Potential Users
The main users targeted by OpenTLM are hardware model engineers, embedded software developers and system designers. Thereby, the aim was to increase productions and to extend the use of Transaction Layer Modeling using SystemC.
But the Website is open to everyone. Actually, it contains several general information on partners, other projects using OpenTLM technologies and several technical information about the project and connected subjects.
Note that at this stage of the project, the OpenTLM results (such as IDE and other tools) only supports the Linux operating system. |

OpenTLM's Aims
The technologic advancements allow to build chips faster, with more components. But today, the real problem is the productivity of designers doesn't increase as quick as the physical capacity of chips. Thereby, TLM (Transaction Level Modeling) allows to design and simulate speedly Soc's architectures.
Therefore, this environment provides a production line of TLM's models, with an open source tools which allow design, technical development and validation of models. So the main purposes of openTLM are :
- Improve the productivity of software developers or hardware designers.
- Reduce the time to access in the market (by reducing the cost of development / validation of softwares).
- Potential use of full environment which includes tools of development of models, platforms for simulations (with hardware components and software), tools of verification and validation and use of strict methods for prouved models.
- Create a community of software developers around TLM (open source).
